SFDOG is planning two picnic celebrations in honor of the Dog Days of August. Both will be free, and dogs are welcome at both. Come enjoy the fun, sun, and the joy of dog.
Celebrate dog sports in Duboce Park!

Noon to 3 pm
Gather in the Duboce Park Dog Play Area
- Try your paw at agility, flyball, frisbee, and rally-o (hard to describe but fun), with demonstrations and instruction from trainers at the SF/SPCA!
- Take the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test with your dog.
- Learn about the upcoming pilot program to generate energy from dog poop collected at Duboce Park.
- Friends of SF Animal Care and Control will be offering microchipping and low-cost vaccinations.
- Enjoy booths from neighborhood pet stores, ACC (get a dog license), rescue dog groups (Grateful Dog Rescue), Duboce Dog and SFDOG, plus snacks and drinks.
Celebrate dog arts and crafts in Dolores Park!

Gather in the southeast corner of Dolores Park
- Browse booths from individual artists/craftspeople showing their wares (prints, notecards, jewely,
ceramics, etc).
- Enjoy booths from neighborhood pet stores, ACC (get a dog license), dog rescue groups, Dolores Park DOG and SFDOG, plus food and drinks (gourmet hot dogs).
- Stay for a Doggy Fashion Show at 7 pm, with outfits supplied supplied by Babies Pet Boutique. Enter your dog in contests for "Best Dressed," "Most Outrageous", and "Best in Show". For more information on contests, visit this link. Fashion Show organized by SFDOG and SFNTF.
- Enjoy the movie "Best in Show" (about a dog show) on a screen set up
in the park, hosted by San Francisco Neighborhood Theater Foundation
(SFNTF).
